A bit about me... Well, a bit is an understatement because I tend to write epistles.

My name is Sónia Lopes. I was born in Malawi and came to Portugal in 1995. I studied architecture but didn't resonate with it, so I decided to switch to conservation and restoration. I confess I loved it, but not as much as my other half, which was more than enough reason to move to the Algarve. One fine day, I got my nails done for the first time, and... the world of nails and my academic world have so much in common!! How is that possible? I wondered, so out of curiosity, I took nail training. And here I am, 12 years later, and I can't see myself doing anything else.

I've had my journey like all of us. There were times when I thought about giving up, of course! But I'm glad I was more stubborn than myself, and instead of giving up, I took courses, studied, dedicated myself, and always kept myself updated.

How did I end up here?

This adventure began right in the middle of the pandemic when uncertainty reigned.

Invited by HN Hitnails Algarve to join this team, I became the official distributor in Faro in April 2021.

I fell in love with the brand and everything it represents. Audacity, splendor, innovation, teamwork, unity... in short, in one word, FAMILY, with no stepmothers or stepchildren.

In August 2021, the opportunity arose for me to become a trainer for the brand. You have no idea, that week when I took the training in Samora Correia, I understood why the quality standards of HN Hitnails trainings are so high. The demands are brutal; it was a week of despair, where we were forced to think outside the box every day. We were forced to push ourselves beyond our limits, we grew in one week what we wouldn't have grown in a year of training. I thank the fantastic team of trainers for my professional development that week.

Educating is one of the things I love the most, passing on knowledge and seeing others grow and knowing that you were part of that journey is a source of pride, and all I can say is, the responsibility of educating is already great, but the responsibility of educating to such high standards as the brand demands is immense.

It is with great pride that I follow and see countless girls evolve who trained with me.

My goals?

To be more and better at what I do, to evolve with every table maintenance, to evolve with every training session I give.

My motto?

With dedication and persistence, the universe is my limit... Never give up!
